- I really don't know what you need to know.. Cognitive impairment for example.. means.. Mental impairment.. and if a person today.. suffers from being mentally ''handicapped' the terminology ''mental retardation'' has been deleted and is not appropriate to ever use when talking about people who are slow in learning.. they are human beings.. the word cognitive means 'mental''.. and we all learn by using the cognitive process.. because we all who are not suffering from mental impairment.. which is the same as cognitive impairment... that's the only process all children use to learn .. Cognitive process learning just means to me.. that we all learn that way..it is the mental act to acquire or process knowledge which means we reason, we use our intuition, and our perception.. and all human beings do that...it's how we learn things .. from the time we are toddlers and ''explore the world around us'' until we grow into puperty.. and we use it in our daily life as young people and as adults.. in our decision making.. as long as we live.. We call people with a mental impairment.. ''cognitively impaired but never ''retarded'' same as it would be absolutely rude and uncompassionate to call someone with a physical impairment.. or a physical handicap a ''Cripple'' so ''Retard and Cripple'' stigmatize people and should never ever be used.. just because a person is different.. mentally or physically, they are human beings and everybody has a right to be treated with dignity and also not with pity but with compassion..
- Cognitive processes are used for learning. How do I feel about it? Its a mandatory process of the brain. I don't know what there is to explain other then the steps taken when learning something. http://library.thinkquest.org/26618/en-5.5.1=classical%20conditioning.htm
