You must be a university student to do that kind of research... at least around here. :) You will need to define "different" learning styles, either by looking through literature (you know best how to search your own university´s library) and setting up categories - or by developing questionnaires to hand out to pupils/students asking them what kind of "learner type" they are. Are you already sure about what you mean by "learner type"? Most pupils/students use various mixtures of different learning styles, so I am not too sure about whether your research aim is already clear enough....? Probably, handing out questionnaires asking students which different learning techniques/style they apply and when they use which is the thing to do. Wragg provides a good overview on classroom research in general. Look through the psychology section of the library to find something on intrinsic motivation and possible factors that affect it. I cannot give more concrete advice unless you provide more and proper detail about your research, sorry. Edit?
